Crafted from 100% organic cotton twill, the substantial 271 g/m² fabric offers a durable feel while maintaining breathable comfort. The unstructured crown creates a relaxed silhouette, complemented by a curved visor and an adjustable self-fabric strap.

Designed for regular wear, the piece balances practical function with a quiet visual presence.

Design & concept

Second Look examines the small pause through which something familiar becomes interesting again.

We recognise an object, a shape or a daily scene and feel we already understand it. Familiarity allows us to move quickly. Yet a slight difference can interrupt that certainty.

Light falls differently.

An overlooked detail becomes visible.

A familiar edge holds an unexpected opening.

For a moment, we stay with what we see.

Within the collection’s opening story, this begins with a woman noticing sunlight passing through a glass of water. An ordinary moment becomes an invitation to look more closely.

The complete Second Look artwork translates that act of attention into five independent, nested open contours.

Their shared geometry establishes a familiar order. Along the right side, small openings and changes in the inner edges interrupt the repetition, giving the eye a reason to return.

For the compact surface of the cap, this wider composition is reduced to three contour fragments taken from the area around the opening.

Each fragment contains an upper and lower angular section, separated by a visible interval. The smallest pair sits beside two taller pairs, preserving a measured relationship between repetition and difference.

The short turns recall the edges of the complete nested contours. The gaps keep the composition open.

At first glance, the three fragments form a simple rhythm. Closer attention reveals their different proportions and the spaces between their interrupted edges.

The embroidered detail carries the artwork’s central invitation: stay with something familiar long enough to notice more.

Positioned on the wearer’s left front panel, the fragment sits clear of the centre seam. Its compact scale leaves generous space across the Black crown.

Grey thread gives the angular forms definition and a subtle stitched texture, keeping the detail small, deliberate and legible.

In the complete study, five nested contours provide a consistent visual framework. Their shared geometry becomes familiar before the differences around their openings become apparent.

Attention moves from the overall shape towards individual edges: where they stop, how they align and what their intervals reveal.

The cap carries a condensed fragment of this relationship.

Three related forms establish repetition.

Their changing proportions introduce difference.

The breaks between upper and lower sections hold the eye at the opening.

The surrounding space allows these small relationships to remain clear.

This fragment suggests a larger structure beyond what is visible. It carries the point of curiosity from the complete artwork into an everyday object.

Second Look is a conceptual interpretation of attention and discovery, considering how sustained observation can change our understanding of something already present.

Matching sewn eyelets provide ventilation, while the adjustable self-fabric strap allows a flexible fit.
