Perception Radius Organic Cotton T-Shirt — French Navy

A minimal study of spatial awareness and environmental sensing observed across natural systems.

Perception Radius explores how organisms interpret surrounding space through distributed fields of perception. Reduced to a restrained arrangement of directional elements, the composition reflects attention, signal detection, and adaptive awareness operating beyond direct visibility.

Expressed on a structured organic cotton T-shirt designed for everyday wear.

Crafted from 100% organic combed ring-spun cotton (180 g/m²), offering a balanced weight, smooth surface, and refined silhouette.

The artwork appears in ash grey, maintaining a quiet, low-contrast presence against the French Navy base.

About the garment

A considered essential built from certified organic cotton for daily wear across seasons.

Made using 100% organic combed ring-spun cotton, the fabric carries a balanced 180 g/m² weight that provides structure while maintaining breathability. The smooth single jersey knit creates a clean surface and soft hand feel without unnecessary bulk.

Designed with restraint, the garment prioritizes durability, comfort, and longevity.

Design & concept

Perception Radius reflects a survival system observed across multiple species — the ability to detect, interpret, and respond to surrounding space before direct interaction occurs.

Many organisms depend on sensory information that extends beyond immediate sight. Species such as bats, owls, elephants, sharks, and numerous marine animals continuously gather environmental signals through sound, vibration, pressure changes, electromagnetic fields, and spatial awareness.

The artwork translates this sensing behavior into a minimal field of distributed directional elements.

Rather than forming a complete shape, the composition operates as an open awareness system:

• signals appear across a shared spatial field
• density shifts suggest changing attention zones
• isolated elements imply distant environmental information
• directional variation reflects adaptive sensing rather than fixed focus

The composition avoids a defined center, allowing awareness to emerge through relationships between signals rather than from a single source.

Areas of concentration and dispersion create a perception field that feels active yet unresolved — continuously gathering information from the surrounding environment.

Placed subtly on the the back, the artwork maintains a quiet presence while expressing awareness as a system of intelligence.

System Insight

PERCEPTION RADIUS

Spatial Awareness — Sensory Detection System

A minimal system exploring how organisms perceive space beyond direct visibility.

Across many species, survival depends not only on movement or concealment, but on the ability to detect environmental information before action occurs. Sound, vibration, pressure, spatial memory, and environmental cues contribute to a constantly evolving perception field.

This artwork translates that principle into a distributed system of directional signals.

No single element defines the composition.

Signals emerge across space.
Density suggests attention.
Distance implies range.
Variation reflects interpretation.

The artwork represents perception as an active field rather than a fixed viewpoint.

An observation of awareness through sensing — adaptive, responsive, and deeply embedded in natural intelligence.

Design & fit

Cut in a regular unisex fit, the silhouette remains balanced and non-restrictive.

• Standard length
• Set-in sleeves
• 1×1 rib collar
• Double-needle topstitch at sleeves and hem
• Self-fabric neck tape for added structure

The artwork appears subtly on the back, maintaining a restrained visual presence.
