Second Look Organic Cotton Hoodie — Desert Dust
A restrained study of attention, quiet discovery and the possibilities revealed when something familiar is seen again.
Second Look explores the moment recognition gives way to curiosity. Five nested open contours establish a familiar order, while small interruptions along their right edges invite closer observation—suggesting that something ordinary can hold more than we first notice.
Made from 100% organic combed ring-spun cotton at a substantial 350 g/m², this heavyweight hoodie offers warmth, a soft brushed interior and a refined, structured silhouette.
A reduced three-part fragment appears at the centre chest, while the complete Second Look study occupies the upper back in Muted Earth Grey linework against Desert Dust.

Second Look — Study 01
THE WORLD WE MAKE Collection · It Begins With Wonder
About the garment
A considered heavyweight essential designed with clarity, structure and restraint.
Constructed from 100% organic combed ring-spun cotton, the substantial 350 g/m² fabric provides warmth and a structured feel while maintaining breathability. The dense outer surface creates a clean, refined appearance, while the brushed interior adds softness and everyday comfort.
A double-layer hood, matching drawcords and front kangaroo pocket bring practical function to a balanced everyday silhouette.
Design & concept
Second Look examines the small pause through which something familiar becomes interesting again.
We recognise an object, a shape or a daily scene and feel we already understand it. Familiarity allows us to move quickly. Yet a slight difference can interrupt that certainty.
Light falls differently.
An overlooked detail becomes visible.
A familiar edge holds an unexpected opening.
For a moment, we stay with what we see.
Within the collection’s opening story, this begins with a woman noticing sunlight passing through a glass of water. An ordinary moment becomes an invitation to look more closely.
Second Look translates that act of attention into five independent, nested open contours.
The composition first appears measured and almost square. Fine lines repeat at quiet intervals, establishing an order the eye can recognise quickly.
Along the right side, openings interrupt that repetition. Moving inward, subtle changes around the opening draw attention towards a small space away from the centre.
The familiar structure remains legible, while a less obvious relationship begins to emerge within it.
Each contour stays separate. The eye can compare their edges, follow their intervals and return to the opening without arriving at a fixed conclusion.
The work invites a second encounter.
What seemed immediately understood becomes something to spend time with.
At the centre chest, three short contour fragments preserve this relationship between repetition, interruption and closer attention. Positioned above the kangaroo pocket, they carry a small detail from the complete study into an intimate everyday placement.
Across the upper back, the full composition gives that detail its wider context. The resting hood partially overlaps its upper edges.
Rendered in Muted Earth Grey against Desert Dust, both applications maintain a warm, low-contrast presence. Their fine linework rewards the closer observation at the heart of the artwork.
System Insight
SECOND LOOK
Familiar Structure — Attention & Discovery System
A minimal system examining how a small interruption within a familiar structure can open another way of seeing.
Repetition establishes recognition.
An opening interrupts expectation.
Difference invites attention.
Closer observation reveals another relationship.
Curiosity keeps the encounter open.
The five nested contours create a consistent visual framework. Their shared geometry makes the composition feel familiar before its differences become apparent.
The openings introduce a second reading.
Attention moves from the overall shape towards the relationships between individual edges: where they stop, how they align and what their intervals reveal.
The outer structure provides a steady reference. The smaller variations within it give the viewer a reason to return.
This relationship is central to Second Look. Discovery can begin through sustained attention to something already present.
The centre-chest fragment isolates the point of curiosity. The complete upper-back study places that moment within a larger field of familiar order.
Together, they express a simple possibility: looking again can change what we understand.
Second Look is a conceptual interpretation of everyday attention and discovery.
An observation of the familiar becoming quietly unexpected.

Collection note
Part of THE WORLD WE MAKE, a collection exploring how everyday acts of attention, experimentation and shared discovery shape our experience of the world.
The story begins with wonder: noticing something small, allowing a question to emerge and making room to explore it.
Through restrained visual systems, the collection considers how we look, try, learn and discover alongside one another.
Second Look begins this sequence with the act of noticing.
A familiar scene holds an unexpected detail.
Attention stays a little longer.
Another possibility becomes visible.
